ZEN Restaurant released a special menu called “Edo Bento”. The menu is inspired by “Makunouchi Bento box”– a popular bento rice box which is mostly preferred by Japanese people to eat during the Kabuki drama break in the Edo era. Customers will be able to select from 5 menus at all Zen branches.
Chicken Namban Bento only at 180 Baht A big chicken thigh mixed with tempura flour and grilled nicely until it gets the aroma. Spicy taste mixed with spicy Kara-ake flour is then added to the chicken and brought to fry until it becomes crispy and golden. Lastly, it is mixed with Namban sauce and paired with shredded cabbage and tartar sauce. This menu is served with Japanese rice, topped with sesame seeds and shredded sweet eggs. With that, the set also includes tempura shrimp with Tonkatsu sauce, crispy sticks, fresh vegetable salad, plus 1 cup of miso soup. Delicious set worth only 180 baht.
Pork/Beef Yakiniku Bento Set
Soft pork or beef sliced in the right size and stirred until the meat is filled with yakiniku sauce. It is served with Japanese rice, topped with sesame seeds and shredded sweet eggs. This set comes together with tempura shrimp and Tonkatsu sauce, crispy sticks, fresh vegetable salad and 1 cup of miso soup. Zen Restaurants offers you to enjoy Pork yakiniku bento set at 240 baht and Beef yakiniku bento set at 280 baht.
Salmon Bento Set at 380 Baht
The Don’t Miss Signature menu! Thick soft salmon, crispy skin, coated with Kabayaki sauce (eel sauce) which has been simmering until the mellow taste is achieved to make the fish more delicious. Then topped with roasted black and white sesame seeds for the aroma and tempting taste. The Salmon Bento set also comes with Japanese rice, sprinkled with sesame seeds and shredded sweet eggs, Tempura Shrimp with Tonkatsu Sauce, Crab sticks, Fresh Vegetable Salad and Miso Soup.
Lastly the highlight of the menu, recommended by the chef: Unagi Bento Set at 680 Baht
Tenderly grilled Unagi, super juicy with a rich flavored sauce, placed on shredded sweet eggs and Japanese rice which makes the sauce flow into the rice, so you can enjoy it. This bento set will let you enjoy more with fresh salmon from Norway as well as tempura Shrimp with Tonkatsu Sauce, Crab sticks, Fresh Vegetable Salad and Miso Soup.
