Airbus has donated 21,000 Antigen Test Kits (ATK) to Thailand in support of the fight against COVID-19.
The kits were transported on the delivery flight of new A330-900 aircraft to Thai Lion Air, from Toulouse, France. The aircraft is leased from Singapore-based BOC Aviation Limited.
Thai Lion Air is a part of Lion Group, which currently operates six A330-300 and eight A330-900 in its widebody fleet.
Airbus Head of Country in Thailand, Pierre Andre, presented the test kits to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, during a ceremony held on Wednesday, 6 October at the ministry’s premises.
Also in attendance was Ambassador of France to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou; Economic Counsellor, Mr. Hubert Colaris; as well as Chairman of the Board of Thai Lion Air, Capt. Darsito Hendroseputro; and Chief Executive Officer of Thai Lion Air, Aswin Yangkirativorn.
Anand Stanley, Airbus President Asia-Pacific said: “We hope that our contribution can help with ongoing procedures. Thailand has done well in managing the pandemic since the outset, and we hope that the current situation in the country will improve soon.”
“We also thank the Lion Group and BOC Aviation for their support in enabling us to transport the test kits on this new aircraft.”
