Art for a Cause: Ibis Styles Bangkok Silom Shines

ibis Styles Bangkok Silom brings more vibrancy and creativity to the neighborhood of Silom as it becomes one of the venues to showcase a variety of stunning artworks from Bangkok-based artists during the Bangkok PRIDE Month 2023 Multi-Venue Charity Art Exhibition Initiative, presented by SINGLE USE Productions.

ibis Styles is an inspiring place for both locals and travellers, with a firm belief in freedom of expression and creative experimentation. ibis Styles Bangkok Silom has been driven by creative spirit since it first opened and has collaborated with talented Thai artist, Tikkywow, to create an eye-catching mural at the hotel’s entrance, highlighting the vibrant history of Silom which welcomes people from all over the world. This June/July, the hotel is proud to be a part of an exciting charity art event and join other partners across Silom in supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Themed around the concepts of Acceptance, Community & Equality, local residents are invited to explore inspiring paintings, drawings, sculptures, poetry, and immersive experiences across multiple venues in the Silom neighborhood. In the lobby of ibis Styles Bangkok Silom, visitors can look forward to experiencing an immersive room constructed of fabric and bamboo, featuring a series of toys and images by the artist Raine Grady.

The Bangkok PRIDE Month Multi-Venue Charity Art Exhibition Initiative will run throughout the entire month of June and into July, taking place at various venues, including both free and ticketed shows. One ticket per night grants access to all the shows, and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to charity. SINGLE USE Productions (www.singleuseproductions.com), in association with Crave Asia, invites everyone to participate for the love of art, music, celebration, and giving back. The event aims to support the LGBTQ+ community and raise funds for the officially registered charity organization, ‘Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand’ (www.rsat.org).

Around Silom, Saladaeng, Soi Convent, and Surawong, an immersive creative experience awaits. Free installations are available for viewing daily, with donations welcome. Additionally, ticketed events are scheduled at participating venues on Friday and Saturday nights, starting from Friday, June 16th, and running through Saturday, July 8th, from 6 pm to 11 pm (or later!). This multi-venue, multi-media art initiative provides an opportunity to show support for a great cause, while having a fantastic time.

Participating artists include Linda Charoenlab, Steven David Lim, Surachai Saengsuwan, Nucha Jaitip, Nikki Busuttil, Matthew Campbell Laurenza, Raine Grady, Mongmongg, Parkin Mukmontreeniti, Jeff Curtis, Kamui Lim, and more.

One ticket per event night, priced at THB 600, grants access to all venues, including two free drink coupons redeemable at select locations. The event is made possible with the much-appreciated support of generous sponsors, including Pernod-Ricard, Jacob’s Creek, ABSOLUTĀ®, SRTET, Bangkok Rainbow, and Crave Asia.
