Bolt Elevates Safety in Thailand: Introduces Groundbreaking In-App Features

Bolt imageIn the bustling streets of Bangkok, a new era of ride-hailing safety and assurance is dawning, courtesy of Bolt, the renowned global shared mobility giant. With the introduction of two pioneering in-app safety features, Bolt is setting a new benchmark in the industry, prioritizing the security of its drivers and riders in Thailand with innovations designed to foster trust and provide peace of mind.

The first of these trailblazing features is an in-app audio trip recording capability, a significant addition to Bolt’s safety toolkit. This feature empowers drivers and riders to initiate an audio recording of their journey directly through the Bolt app should they ever feel uneasy or in danger during a ride. The tapes, which can only be activated during an ongoing Bolt journey, are intended to be shared with Bolt’s Customer Support team in case of a safety-related incident, thus facilitating a more efficient and effective resolution process. Importantly, neither party can access or listen to the recordings for privacy reasons, ensuring that the system respects personal boundaries while enhancing safety.

Simultaneously, Bolt is rolling out a robust rider verification feature to elevate driver safety to unprecedented levels. This initiative requires new riders to submit a selfie before placing a ride-hailing order, coupled with an identification document check to ensure authenticity. This strengthens the trust between driver and rider and promises to streamline the ride-hailing process, resulting in a swifter, more reliable service for everyone involved.

These introductions are part of Bolt’s unwavering commitment to safety, where the company has already established a strong track record. Existing safety measures for drivers include around-the-clock support, stringent rider management protocols, phone number masking, and proactive trip monitoring alerts. For riders, Bolt has implemented identity verification for drivers, real-time trip-sharing capabilities, and an emergency assist button, among other features.

Behind these innovations is a dedicated, specially trained in-house safety team, underscored by Bolt’s expansive reach of over 150 million customers and a network of 3.5 million fleet, driver, and courier partners worldwide. According to Nathadon Suksiritarnan of Bolt, “Feeling safe is a critical part of a high-quality ride-hailing experience. That’s why safety is our top priority… It’s part of our ongoing investment in new products, features, and our dedicated in-house specially trained safety team, to ensure that we can continue to improve the safety ecosystem of the Bolt app.”

As Bolt continues to pioneer advancements in ride-hailing safety, it’s clear that the company is responding to today’s needs and preemptively shaping the future of global mobility. With its latest safety features, Bolt is enhancing Thailand’s ride-hailing experience and reinforcing its position as a leader in the shared mobility space, committed to innovation, safety, and the well-being of its community.
