Brompton Go for Gold – Special Edition Celebrates 20 Years in Asia

Iconic British folding bike brand Brompton Bicycle celebrates its 20th anniversary in Asia with the release of a special edition.  The ‘20 Years in Asia Gold Edition’ features a frame painted in gold to commemorate the colour synonymous with good fortune and prosperity in Asian cultures. A limited run of 1,000 bikes will be offered exclusively in the region, with only 95 bikes available in Thailand, making it a truly sought-after piece.

The gold frame serves to accentuate the sleek, impeccably crafted steel tubing and striking black gloss components. These include handlebar (M or H options), stem, seat post and 16” wheels, which contrast beautifully. The Gold Edition is equipped with a black Brooks B17 saddle, handcrafted in the UK with premium British Leather and each comes with an exclusive gold toolkit, decal and owner’s certificate.

Brompton’s innovative design, portability and extensive customisation options have proven popular with cycling enthusiasts across Asia. Lightweight and compact, Brompton bicycles can be easily taken on BTS or MRT or put in a car trunk. These features make them ideal for urban commuting, which is particularly welcome in Bangkok. As concern with congestion and air pollution grows, switching to cycling becomes an attractive commuting alternative for Thailand. It has also grown in popularity after HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn, a keen environmentalist and cyclist himself, led the ‘Un Ai Rak’ or ‘Love and Warmth’ event which attracted over 600,000 participants.

Will Butler-Adams, CEO of Brompton Bicycle said, “We wanted to share this milestone with our loyal customer-base in Asia. The Gold Edition is our way of commemorating a very special occasion and the special relationship Brompton has with its Asian customers. We look forward too many more happy years of Brompton bikes being used in Thailand and all neighbourhoods, villages and cities in the Asia Pacific region.”

The special edition gold Bromptons are now available for pre-order, just in time for the Lunar New Year at our official dealerships: British Cycle Square, Tinywheels & One Fine Day. The price for the day is 83,450 Baht.
