Collect Digital Art Across Thailand: Amazing Thailand NFTs Season 2

TAT launches ‘Amazing Thailand NFTs Season 2’The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched “Amazing Thailand NFTs Season 2”, a project that offers Thai tourists and foreign expats the opportunity to collect Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital art items at 20 tourist attractions across Thailand’s five regions. Participants can collect NFTs via the YAKS application until 30 April and enjoy privileges and special discounts until 31 July.

According to Mr Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, the project highlights TAT’s focus on leveraging technology and innovation to transform Thai tourism into Smart Tourism. The NFT products, which include Nature to keep, Food to explore, and Thainess to discover, are designed to inspire digital asset holders to travel more within Thailand, offering new meaningful travel experiences.

The Amazing Thailand NFTs Season 2 project follows the success of the Amazing Thailand NFTs project in 2022, which saw 17,118 NFTs accumulated by tourists from 3,999 items at each of the five locations in Bangkok and Samut Prakan, stimulating tourist spending estimated at over 43 million Baht.

There are 24,000 pieces of NFT artworks distributed at the 20 tourist attractions and landmarks across Thailand’s five regions. In addition to the 20 tourist attractions and landmarks, the NFT artworks are available at 22 airports nationwide.

Participants can collect NFTs through the YAKS application, available for both Android and iOS. Upon registration, they will receive their first NFT artwork and can check in within a two-kilometre radius of the tourist attraction to collect NFTs.

TAT launches ‘Amazing Thailand NFTs Season 2’Created by artists from Riety Studio, each Digital Art NFT is one-of-a-kind and comes in the form of a polaroid picture of the tourist attraction. The items, classified as “Normal” and “Rare”, will be stored in the digital wallet of tourists who travel to collect and can be used to unlock privileges and discounts for airfare, accommodation, food and beverage, shopping, and other travel offers.

Foreign expats can also receive NFT Expat privileges, including discounts or exemptions on entrance fees to attractions such as Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun by refunding the discount at TAT Head Office, 1600 New Phetchaburi Road, Makkasan, Ratchathevi, Bangkok 10400.

The project aims to promote domestic tourism and encourage travel within Thailand by offering unique and valuable digital art collectibles that can be used to unlock discounts and privileges. This innovative project demonstrates the Thai tourism industry’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to add value to the tourist experience and promote Thailand as a destination for Smart Tourism.
