Enjoy A Session Of ‘Nap Without Guilt’ With Virgin Active’s New Sound Bath

Virgin Active Thailand introduces the Sound Bath, a new class that will be added to the club’s comprehensive list of fitness and wellness classes, reinforcing its commitment towards a well-rounded lifestyle. The Sound Bath is a specially curated 45-minute session that allows one to rest, heal and recover their mind and body by immersing in relaxing sound waves using crystal sound bowls.

Julien Bera, Country Director of Virgin Active Southeast Asia says, “As part of our continued efforts and commitment in enhancing holistic wellness at Virgin Active, we are thrilled to be offering Sound Bath as a permanent product offering and addition to our comprehensive wellness offerings. Serving as a guided restorative session, Sound Bath is for individuals who are embracing their path to an enhanced well-being as well as individuals who are new to integrating wellness into their lifestyle.”

Fall Into a Deep Meditative State with Virgin Active’s Sound Bath

Immerse in an experience of sound bath-trained teachers playing waves of soothing, echoing sound from the crystal sound bowls. The class is designed to enhance one’s overall wellbeing and complement the other mind and body product offerings at Virgin Active, allowing participants to fall into a deep meditative state that will recharge, rebalance and reset their minds.

The experience starts when participants make a mindful arrival into the space, focusing on the present moment. Participants are guided to find a comfortable lying position on the yoga mat, using blankets and bolsters as props to ensure that they are fully supported and at complete ease. The teacher delicately begins to play the bowls and their melodious tones ripple through the space, forming a cocoon of harmonious vibrations that cradle each participant. Throughout this immersive session, the teacher maintains a profound silence, allowing the bowls’ music to serve as the guide.

As the session unfolds, a sense of timelessness emerges and participants may explore the inner landscapes of their thoughts, emotions and sensations. Gradually, participants are awakened from a profound and restorative state and return to the present moment. The teacher’s voice gently beckons them back, guiding their slow and deliberate movements as they transition from their resting state to an upright position, feeling relaxed with emotional relief.

Tidarat Virasunti (Praew), Head of Pilates & Yoga of Virgin Active Thailand shared, ” Every time I join a yoga class, I always receive good energy, either from the instructors or my classmates. All these positive energies inspire me to teach my own yoga class in order to pass on the good vibes to my students.  At Virgin Active, we understand that it may be intimidating to kickstart a wellness journey especially for beginners, that is why the Sound Bath is such a great start for people who might be new to healing activities or who are looking for a space with guidance to relax and unwind. Benefits from the class include stress reduction, improved sleep, improved mood and emotional well-being, reduced anxiety and enhanced cognitive function, and alleviating chronic pain and muscle tension.”

Sound bath is suited for individuals who are in search of improving overall well-being or aspiring to attain inner equilibrium through practicing mindful meditation. Sound baths can help activate the body’s relaxation response, reducing the production of stress hormones like cortisol, aid in meditation by providing a focal point for the mind and sleep better. Studies have also shown that certain frequencies and vibrations from sound baths can stimulate the body’s natural pain-relieving mechanisms and provide relief from conditions like chronic pain, migraines, and

muscle tension.

Besides promoting a heightened awareness of one’s body and emotions, the soothing and harmonious sounds of a sound bath can elevate mood and reduce feelings of sadness or depression. Some studies suggest that sound therapy can have a positive impact on cognitive functions such as memory and attention and the calming effects of sound baths may help improve mental clarity and focus.
