The Slate, the whimsical, art-inspired resort on Phuket’s secluded northwest shore, reaffirms its position at the cutting edge of contemporary culture with the launch of VIBRATIONS, an exciting new series of community-orientated festivities that showcase creativity in all its forms.
The inaugural VIBRATIONS event can now be revealed! Amazônia will be a celebration of all things stylishly South American and memorably Mexican, including upbeat music, great gastronomy, amazing art and, of course, plenty of dancing! Hosted from 16-17 April 2022, this exotic South American weekend is perfectly timed to offer an alternative splash-free Songkran celebration for travellers to Phuket, and an inspiring, enlightening experience for all free-spirited explorers.
Offering 24 hours of lively Latin entertainment and activities, VIBRATIONS kicks off just before sunset on Saturday 16th April with a live music concert, followed by an acoustic guitar performance and painting session by Trey Hurst, the Bangkok-based visual artist and designer. These uplifting events will be hosted on the Coliseum Lawn, an enchanting natural amphitheatre where guests can chill out on the soft grass and sip cool cocktails, such as caipirinhas, surrounded by swaying palms and sparkling pools.
Guests will then be treated to a mouth-watering buffet dinner amid the fragrant tropical gardens, with an extensive selection of freshly-cooked dishes, including many authentic delicacies that will transport diners’ taste buds to the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires or Mexico City. This will be followed by a live performance by the Amazônia band and a capoeira dance by Junkyard Theatre – an energetic show combining music, dance and martial arts that will leave all spectators spellbound! This exhilarating evening of art and expression ends in style with a second performance from Amazônia and a live set from DJ Markos, as revellers dance under the stars until midnight.
Then on Sunday 17th April, having enjoyed a dream-filled sleep in one of The Slate’s stunning suites, guests will be treated to a blissful Sunday brunch from 12.00 to 16.00 hrs, accompanied by surprise Amazônia performances.
