Lenovo & Google Boost Inclusive Deaf Education in Thailand

Lenovo Thailand, in partnership with Google for Education, has donated 60 Lenovo 500e Chromebooks to Setsatian School for the Deaf to promote inclusive learning with technology and increase access to the education curriculum for students with disabilities. This initiative aims to empower students in grades 10 through 12 along with their teachers, as part of Lenovo’s commitment to supporting education transformation with its smart technology.

The Lenovo 500e Chromebooks come equipped with features that enable students and teachers to overcome common challenges, such as Captions, a tool that automatically generates captions for video or allows the addition of human-generated caption files for students to view as subtitles.

Thaneth Angkasirisan, General Manager, Lenovo Indochina stated, “At Lenovo, our vision is to provide smarter technology for all students in the classroom. We believe that every student deserves the advantages education technology can give them, and our partnership with Google for Education is a great example of how the right technology can promote equitable access for all learners. This means breaking down barriers, fostering equitable learning experiences, and enabling learners of all ages, abilities, and means to fulfill their potential.”

During the donation ceremony, Atinuch Chorrojprasert, General Manager for Large Business Unit, Lenovo Thailand, shared Lenovo’s vision to develop technology that champions inclusivity and removes barriers in education. Representatives from Google for Education, DEPA, Office of Basic Education Commission, Chulalongkorn University, and Loxley Orbit also attended the event.
