The two-day event, scheduled for the 19th and 20th of June, is set to unfold in the renowned Energy Events Centre, with an anticipated opening gala at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre on the 18th. This year’s edition is significant, marking the event’s 28th iteration, a testament to its enduring relevance and growing stature in international business events.
Lisa Hopkins, the dynamic Chief Executive of BEIA, exudes palpable excitement about the event. “Rotorua is not just New Zealand’s tourism birthplace, but also our cultural heartland,” she says. The city’s deep cultural roots and status as a tourism epicentre make it the ideal location for such a prestigious event. Hopkins emphasizes that MEETINGS 2024 is “much more than a trade show,” highlighting its role as a crucial gathering for global conferences, incentives, and meeting organizers.
The allure of MEETINGS 2024 extends beyond the usual business talks and networking sessions. Hosted buyers are in for a treat with a plethora of experiences, including the new Hobbiton™ Movie Set tour and a special Matariki dinner. The event coincides with the Māori New Year, offering a unique cultural immersion.
Applications for hosted buyers opened on January 31st, with an impressive roster of up to 200 exhibiting organizations. These buyers, key decision-makers in business events, including conferences and tradeshows, will be treated to 26 scheduled appointments over the two days. This is a unique opportunity for them to delve into the best of what New Zealand’s business events sector offers.
MEETINGS 2024 goes the extra mile in hospitality, courtesy of partnerships with Air New Zealand and Johnston’s Coachlines, ensuring seamless transportation for the attendees. Accommodation is arranged at eight select host hotels, emphasizing comfort and convenience.
In an innovative twist, this year’s program includes additional time slots devoid of appointments, enabling more organic networking opportunities and interactions. Day buyers are also catered to, with options to enhance their experience, including a speaker program, educational sessions, and special accommodation rates.
