New Pattaya Hotel by India’s Food People

70 room VITS Gazebo Resort Pattaya has been launched by India’s Kamats Group, fondly known as ‘The Food People’ for their popular restaurant chains. Set among a lush tropical garden on South Pattaya road close to popular shopping centers, walking street and beach road, the hotel offers basic, deluxe and superior double rooms and a 4 bedroom pent house. This is the groups second property in Thailand after the opening of VITS Patang Dynasty in Phuket in February 2017 which enjoys an amazing 93 percent occupancy.

 What made you choose Thailand for your first overseas venture?

At VITS, it is our continuous endeavor to identify opportunities and tap into the growing market demands. Thailand is a very popular and sought-after destination for Indian travelers. There is a 30% rise in the number of inbound travelers in Thailand each year. Our international consultancy assignments have revealed and tremendous growth results for Thailand. With an established network and exemplary expertise in the Food and Hospitality sector which spans for a period of over 90+years, we are launching our 2nd 4 star property in Thailand.

 How do you plan to compete with local accommodation providers? What will be your USP?

The VITS Gazebo resort is a luxurious 4 star resort in Pattaya. The hotel is centrally located and within proximity to important travel hubs and places to visit in Pattaya. The luxurious rooms are elegantly furnished with modern decor and equipped with all necessary facilities. Our 24-hour room service ensures that guests feel at home. Our in-house restaurant near Pattaya beach serves delicious dishes from the local cuisine and whips up lip-smacking delicacies. The wellness center and spa has a range of treatments and therapies to help our guests relax and rejuvenate.

Our USP is our knowledge about Indian travelers’ needs which we complete through our established hospitality and service. In fact we have Kamats restaurant (also serving Jain food) keeping in mind the Indian love for vegetarian food.

 Where are you planning your next international venture?

We are planning to expand our reach to other destinations in Asia including India , Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia & Nepal.

 What is your experience of setting up a hotel in Thailand? How has it been different from your earlier experiences?

They say you can do business anywhere after doing it in India.  Yes, having done business in India, Thailand seemed an easy market once we understood the way things and people worked. Definitely they are business friendly. Considering the fact that VITS Kamats Group has always believed and practiced “Customer Experience First” our team makes success look easy.

Who is your target clientèle- Indian, Thai or international? In what percentage mix of leisure and business?

Our main target audience remains Indian travelers coming from India as the current youth is fond of travel and likes to experience new locations. We offer authentic Indian cuisine along with well known Indian hospitality. We are also targetting international travelers specifically from Europe.

Is it suitable for events? Will handling MICE and weddings be your forte?

Yes, we have excellent banquet and conference halls to serve MICE delegations. Pattaya and Phuket have emerged as a preferred destination for MICE due its ease and excellent facilities at very reasonable prices. In addition, the hotel’s central location within proximity to important  attractions in Pattaya will make it a preferable choice for guests travelling on business.

How much of your current business comes through travel agents (both offline and online)? Do you expect a similar pattern to continue with your international venture?

We have our own proprietary program for offline travel agents called VITS Sales Agents program where our member agents work closely with us to ensure both prosper and benefit throughout the year and not just during peak season. We will continue this program for our international destinations as well. We are already receiving a good response for our Thailand Phuket property.
