Phnom Penh’s Penthouse Gem: Luxe & Legacy Unveiled

Explore the Ultimate Luxury at Anik Palace's New Penthouse in Phnom Penh, CambodiaA new three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse at the expanded Anik Palace Hotel in Phnom Penh reflects renewed confidence in the future of Cambodia’s capital as a business and tourism hub.

The penthouse, with average rates of A$1,062 (US$700) per night, is a feature of extensions to the Anik Palace Hotel that, when completed in early Q2 2025, will add 24 Anik Classic XL, increasing the total to 147.

“It will be the diamond in our Phnom Penh gem,” said Mr Sin Samney (Sam), the Anik Cluster general manager. “It will be constructed in the same style as the Anik Palace Hotel using 100-year-old bricks and a façade that complements the Khmer character of the property and its two sister Phnom Penh hotels in the Anik Hotels Group.“

The exterior look of the hotel building draws from the colonial era and looks a little like a castle with guestrooms, and public areas designed with a European classical theme. Its name, ‘Anik, ‘ is an endearment for the owner’s wife, which translates to politeness and generosity in Khmer.

The extended Anik Palace Hotel will feature an authentic Khmer cuisine restaurant on the ground floor.  The hotel spa, yoga, conference room and Luna Sky Bar will be extended to cater to 100 guests.

To celebrate, the Anik Palace Hotel offers a special Phnom Penh Tour Gateway 3-night/4-day Package for two people priced at A$986 (US$650). The stay, in a Deluxe Urban room, includes breakfast for two people, return airport transfers by SUV car, two full-day tours, a set lunch menu for up to two people and a cocktail or mocktail at the Luna Sky Bar.

Online readers have recently voted Phnom Penh as ninth among the world’s top 25 most popular tourist destinations.

Once a stopover for visitors heading to the Angkor temples in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh is becoming a longer-stay destination.  It is a hub for many cultural and historical attractions, food, and shopping and provides a gateway to the coastal centres of Kampot and Kep and beyond.

One million international tourists visited the city last year, most coming from China and South Korea, followed by the US, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Taiwan, France, Japan and the UK.  The growth is not lost on local hoteliers, who are confident the city’s growth is sustainable.  Visitors to Phnom Penh enjoy hotel rooms at much lower rates than other Southeast Asia cities and affordable quality restaurants with excellent cuisine.

Cambodia welcomed five million international tourists in 2023, a growth of about 139.5% compared to 2022.

The Anik Palace Hotel was recommended for the CFM New Discovery Package cruise on the Mekong River from Siem Reap to HoChiMinh City aboard the Toum Tiou 2 riverboat.  An early bird discount offer is available for A$2,453 (US$1,642) for January to March 2024 cruises for Main Deck cabins double/twin share per person.
