Rosewood Bangkok Teams Up With Rosewood Phuket To Bring Authentic Southern Thai Cuisine To The Heart Of Bangkok

Rosewood Bangkok has partnered with Rosewood Phuket to bring authentic Southern Thai cuisine to the capital.  From March 22 to 28, 2021, Uncle Nun and Aunt Yai, the married chef couple at the helm of Ta Khai, Rosewood Phuket’s signature Thai restaurant, will take over Lakorn European Brasserie to escort Bangkok diners on a flavorful culinary journey to the South.   On weekdays, Lakorn will offer a family-style Ta Khai sharing set lunch available at THB899 per person and a Ta Khai semi-buffet dinner will be offered evenings for the full seven days at THB1,499 per person.

Michelin Guide has recognized Ta Khai restaurant for its excellence by bestowing it a “Michelin Plate” award in both 2019 and 2020.  Uncle Nun and Aunt Yai prepare their dishes as they would when welcoming guests into their own home, showcasing their love of aromatic flavors, seafood specialties and the use of only the freshest and finest ingredients to hand. The couple first met over a shared passion for authentic southern Thai cuisine and since have honed their culinary skills over a 30-year union.

The couple will present a three-course set lunch of Ta Khai signature dishes, including a choice from two appetizers and three mains, finished with a delectable dessert. Highlights include Khao Tang Natang, a mouthwatering dish of Crispy Rice with Blue Crabs, Prawns, Coconut Milk and Peanut Paste; Gaeng Som Pla Gao, a Southern style Spicy & Sour Black Grouper with Coconut Shoots; and Moo Hong, featuring Soy-Braised Pork with Black Pepper and Garlic.

The Ta Khai semi-buffet dinner will offer appetizer stations of luscious South Thailand favorites including Winged Bean Salad, Yum Som-OMiang Kham and Fresh Spring Rolls.  Diners can select from a choice of Ta Khai’s popular mains, including Bai Liang Pad KhaiGang Pu Bai Cha PluGang Massamun Nua, Pla Neung Manao and Pla Gao Rad Prik Supparod.  The indulgence continues as Lakorn’s entire lush balcony is converted into a seafood grill station where diners can select fresh seafood to be grilled and enjoyed on their seafood platter. The evening is topped off with an unlimited plethora of Thai desserts including Homemade Coconut Ice Cream, Sago Phattalung, Khanom Tuay and Tub Tim Krob.
