Thai Father’s Day Celebrations

Meliá Chiang Mai Marks Father’s Day With Special Menu and Spa Treatment

Meliá Chiang Mai will celebrate Father’s Day with an exquisite four-course set menu at its signature restaurant on the 21st floor and some pampering at YHI Spa. With panoramic views of Chiang Mai and famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop, Mai Restaurant & Bar will host the special set menu on 5 December this year from 6pm-10pm.

The menu starts with the ‘Father’s Day Samplers’ comprising tasting size portions of three different delicacies: Caramelized pork belly and pomelo salad, crabmeat tossed fermented rice noodle salad and fluffy fish with golden shallots Following a soup of dried squid seasoned consommé with pork ravioli and plums, the main course is a choice between ‘Mama’s recipe’ of angus beef steak on braised beef cheek curry with butterfly peas flower rice, or baked banana leaf wrapped seabass with spicy tomato relish, fish sauce brined mushrooms and sticky rice spring roll. White chocolate mousse with winter berries for dessert to wrap up the meal. The menu is THB 1,999 nett per person, including a glass of selected red or white house wine. From 3-5 December, YHI Spa will offer a one-hour gentleman’s facial for THB 1,177 nett per person instead of the regular price of THB 1,765 nett, available from 10am–10pm. Free of chemicals, synthetics, fragrances and dyes, the facial for men is designed to naturally promote healthy and radiant skin. Indulge Your Dear Dad at Banyan Tree Samui

Fathers of Koh Samui will unite at the Lobby Bar of Banyan Tree Samui during the week of December 4 – 10, when a free cold local beer will be served up to those deserving dads — and dads-to-be — for their second drink as they celebrate their day of recognition at this classy panoramic viewpoint. The Lobby Bar (open daily 12 noon – 10pm) also serves cocktails and a selection of Scotch and other fine whiskeys. Meanwhile, at the resort’s award-winning restaurant Saffron, guests and non-guests alike are invited to join in a Father’s Day Southern Thai cuisine set meal for just 1,800THB nett per person any evening during that same week.

Perhaps one of Thailand’s most recognizable resorts for its picture-postcard location, Banyan Tree Samui is nestled into a tropical hillside overlooking a cove of white-sanded beach and sapphire sea, and each of the 88 villas on the lush 38-acre property boasts a private 35-sqm infinity pool.
