Contrary to the overall direction that has seen an easing of COVID-19 restrictive measures, Chon Buri province has ordered hotels, accommodations, and tourism attractions to close. Hotels are however, allowed to remain open provided they submit a formal request to do so within seven days.
Chon Buri’s Provincial Communicable Diseases Committee has released a directive to close all hotels, places of accommodation, and tourism attractions in the province until further notice.
The announcement mentions that business owners should provide help to their employees so that they don’t undertake inter-provincial travel. Hotels and other accommodation can still choose to stay open by informing their respective district office within seven days after the closure order becomes effective.
This announcement has been made despite the fact the province has not reported any new cases of COVID-19 within the past eight days. The province says the measure is aimed at preventing the further spread of the virus from unidentified patients.
Meanwhile, Chon Buri province has stepped up its active case finding operation by offering free COVID-19 tests to any member of the general public who has respiratory symptoms, fever, a cough, a runny nose, sore throat, loss of scent and taste, or breathing difficulties. Persons with any of these symptoms who wish to be tested can register with their respective district public health office.
