Thai Vietjet’s Fly Green Metro: Songklah Mangrove Bliss!

Marking a significant milestone of its first mangrove forest under the ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ initiative, Thai Vietjet announced ‘Fly Green Metro Forest – Mangrove’, inviting its passengers, members, students, and staff to join hands in planting a mangrove forest of 10,000 trees at Songklah Lake, Songklah, on April 5, 2024, from 08:00 – 15:00.

The ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ project stems from the airline’s environmental fund, the ‘Fly Green Fund,’ which was established in early 2021 with the ultimate goal of environmental sustainability and preservation.

The main goal of the “Fly Green Metro Forest” project is to create additional green spaces in Thailand’s urban regions. Following the first Metro Forest’s success in Bangkok, and subsequently in Chiang Mai, the project is now poised for expansion into Songklah.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said: “Thai Vietjet has been steadfast in our commitment to environmental sustainability, implementing measures to reduce pollution and address the root causes of global warming. As part of this dedication, we are proud to announce the expansion of the Fly Green Metro Forest project into Songklah, marking the first edition to include a mangrove forest within our scope.”

Since the establishment of the Fly Green Fund, Thai Vietjet has consistently been carrying out a wide range of environmental projects and activities, including ‘Garbage Hunter’ – a project to remove garbage from various locations in Thailand, ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Day’ – the first charity golf tournament under Fly Green Fund, ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ – a project to increase more green areas in the urban cities in Thailand, and ‘Vietjet Fly Green Charity Concert’ – an event to create awareness about environmental issues among music fans and raise funds from concert tickets sales for environmental preservation activities.

‘Fly Green Metro Forest – Mangrove’  will be held on April 5, 2024, at Songklah Lake, Songklah, on April 5, 2024, from 08:00 – 15:00. For more information, please visit www.vietjetair.com
