Volvo Car Thailand announces the availability of the latest model year of Volvo C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge Pure Electric models, offering increased range and faster charging time.
The previous set-up of two 150 kW electric motors on both front and rear axles of the Volvo C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge Pure Electric has been replaced by our in-house developed 258 hp electric motor on the rear axle and a new 150 hp asynchronous electric motor on the front axle. As the asynchronous motor does not require a constant electrical charge, both models conserve energy by engaging the front-axle drive only when it’s needed – contributing to the improvements in range.

This new configuration, paired with an 82kWh battery pack and overall efficiency improvements in battery cooling, means the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Twin Motor can now drive up to 645 kilometres on a single charge, a 145-kilometre boost over the previous iteration. The range of the C40 Recharge Pure Electric Twin Motor has improved up to 650 kilometres from 530 kilometres1..
Here too, charging power has improved as the larger battery pack allows for charging at an updated top rate of 200kW DC (previously 150kW DC maximum), while a 10-80 per cent charge takes approximately 28 minutes2.
The latest exterior updates also help contribute to efficiency gains. For example, a new 19-inch, 5-Spoke Black Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel not only boosts the overall look for both models, but it also helps to reduce drag through its aerodynamic design. The signature Thor’s Hammer headlights are augmented with state-of-the-art Pixel LED light technology, enabling them to automatically adapt to traffic in front and efficiently light up the road ahead without dazzling other drivers.
Additional change to the exterior theme is the two new exterior paint colors – Cloud Blue and Vapour Grey.
